Full-Time RV-Budget Traveling-Winters in the FL Keys

We have been full-time RVers since 2018. Our first adventure was a 4-5 month stay in the Florida Keys, which later turned into a two-year visit. We now go back every year for several months, and one of our favorite things to do in our downtime is try all the fantastic restaurants the Florida Keys offers. We do our best to save money while traveling full-time, so we often seek happy hours to stay within our budget goals.

Prices for goods and services at restaurants and businesses in the Florida Keys are generally higher compared to other areas. However, we've discovered that happy hours are a great way to enjoy the Keys' culinary scene without straining your wallet.

This season, we were in Islamorada, tried many great restaurants, and hit many happy hours, so we are going over some today. Now, without further ado, here are our top favorite Happy Hours in the Florida Keys, from Key West to Key Largo. We've also included other happy hours in the area.

#1 The Sunset Lounge above the Square Grouper

The Sunset Lounge above the Square Grouper is one of our favorite spots for happy hour in Islamorada. The stunning sunset views and the relaxed atmosphere make it a perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring the Keys.

They offer a great selection of crafted cocktails, local beer, and wine, and during happy hour, all alcoholic beverages are 20 Percent off.

They also have $5 medium select stone crab claws and $2 oysters from various regions. The rest of the menu is small plates, and the pricing is pretty, but it's worth it!

They don't take reservations upstairs or down; happy hour starts at 4:20 and ends at 6 p.m. We have a video of one of our visits on our Facebook group and page, which I will link at the bottom.

Also, if you can't get a table at the Sunset Lounge, you can sit on the couches family-style and still get full service.

#2 Kaiyo Grill

Kaiyo has always been one of our favorites. They just returned happy hour, and it's even better. They tweaked that menu a bit and added some more affordable items. We were highly impressed with their weekly happy hour portions, taste, and price point.

We went to H.H. several times and tried everything the happy hour menu offers- such a great deal for excellent quality food.

The rolls were a decent size for happy hour, and the California Roll at real crab. Regular price rolls are between $17-$22

*Try the Tiradito Roll-hamachi, goat cheese, green apple, cucumber, cilantro pesto, jalapeño, sriracha, and volcano salt with truffle ponzu

The Tiradito Roll is one of my favorite rolls. Surprisingly, I never thought I would like goat cheese in my sushi, but you can only knock it once you try it!

During stone crab season in the Florida Keys, typically from October 15th to May 15th, locals and visitors eagerly anticipate enjoying this sought-after Florida delicacy. This is one of our favorite spots to partake and enjoy fresh stone crab right off the boat, with an incredible view and a fun atmosphere. Drinks are reasonable here for the area, but they also have a great happy hour with a few raw bar appetizers and drink specials.

#1 The Boat House Bar and Grill- This is our favorite happy in the Keys!

The boat house doesn't have a current menu online, but all the small plates are half off. There are about 18 different options, ranging from peel and eats to baby lamb chops. My favorite thing to get is the lobster tempura. 4-6:30 pm Daily with Half-off well drinks, house wine, draft beer, and off small plates.

#2 Martins-A local favorite-4pm–6pm daily and features a half-off Signature Martinis, well drinks, and tapas along with a discounted selection of wines by the glass.
