How Much Does it Cost to Travel in an RV?

Are you considering getting an RV and traveling but unsure about the current costs?

People often ask us if living in an RV is cheaper than a home. The cost of RV travel really depends on many factors like, fuel costs, campround fees and how often you are moving around. If you're thinking about getting an RV and traveling but are unsure about the current costs, Check out our weekly travel costs.

Fuel, groceries, and travel costs have increased substantially over the last two years. Although it hasn't stopped us from traveling full-time, we've made some adjustments to our travel schedule this year to stay within our budget.

We're on a trip up the East Coast, and we've been gone for seven days. I wanted to share the breakdown of our weekly travel costs.

Since gas has more than doubled since we started RVing, we rely on gas cards and fuel programs to save a few dollars on each fill-up. You can learn more about those programs here.

We will stay three days at our next stop for free through our Thousand Trails Membership, trying our best to lower our weekly travel costs. I've been playing some gigs as a singer-songwriter-which helps with the cost of travel, but I also need to make sure I'm making money.

There isn't much we can do about the cost of gas, and we usually don't pay for RV campground stays, so next week should be better....stay tuned.
