RV Camping at a Love's Truck Stop Review

Good morning from Geneva, Ohio!

What a fantastic trip it's been so far. We've been in Tennessee, Kentucky, and now Ohio. We will be here until the 4th of October and then going to Pennsylvania for a couple of weeks.

I dropped my phone yesterday, so I didn't get pictures and videos to share.

We had our first stay at a Love's RV truck stop for two nights, and I wanted to share our thoughts on staying at one.

This one was located in Madison, Ohio, near tons of wineries, which was a plus. Also, it was brand new, and it showed. The store was one of the nicest ones we'd ever been in. Here is what we liked, and here is what we didn't like.

Pro's

Ease of check-in. You can check in on your phone or the kiosk outside the RV sites.

The store is open 24 hours a day, and a fast food restaurant is attached.

The employees were friendly and informative and greeted us each morning with a welcome and a smile.

It is only $41.00 a night, and we saved 10 percent with a Veterans discount, making it $70 for two nights.

You did hear highway noise, but it wasn't bad, and the neighboring RVers were quiet each night. It's a safe area without people hanging around outside that shouldn't be there, like some gas stations. We slept great. The bathrooms and the rest of the store were clean and had fresh salads, coffee, and other hot food items for sale inside.

What we didn't like:

It isn't a full hookup; we only had electricity and water. That's usually not a problem for us, but we assumed they had a dump station on site, and they did not. The girl at the counter was helpful and informed us that they could not provide one due to city restrictions. She said we were able to shower inside for $16 a person.

We are camping today at a state park, and it's electric-only for $29 a night and includes access to the showers. I wish Loves would allow you to have at least one free shower for the price we paid. When you include the cost of 2 showers for just one night, that's a grand total of $102 to stay on the side of a busy highway for two nights with each of us having one shower and limited access to water since we couldn't dump.

We are full-timers, so we need to save wherever we can, and we have never paid for showers outside of our campground fees.

Would we stay overnight again at a Love’s RV truck stop?

Staying at a Love's RV truck stop can be a convenient option for travelers driving through the area and needing a place to rest for the night. Our facility was well-maintained, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. However, because it is primarily a truck stop, there was more noise and activity than at a traditional RV park or campground. Overall, it can be a good option for a quick, no-frills stay on the road.

I would stay again, but only if I couldn't find anything else, which was the case on this trip. Considering you can stay at other more "campground" like locations for the same price or less, this just isn't ideal for us, but we were happy with the overall stay and felt safe, which is most important for us on overnight stops.
