I’m sure everyone has experienced high fuel prices by now, and as of today, I think there may be some relief insight, as I’ve noticed little drops here and there over the past few days. Regardless, it’s still high.

Would you like to ease the pain at the pump?

Well, there is some good news because we have a way for you to save money on gas! Whether you have a diesel or gas vehicle, we’re here to help.

Some of you may have heard of these, seen them advertised, or even have them already. We use three different fuel apps when we travel.

GET UPSIDE

The first one I’ll tell you about is called GetUpside. It’s not just for fuel; it’s also for groceries, restaurants, and more. All you have to do is download the app from the App Store or Google Play/App Store, create an account, and start saving!

If you sign up, please use my code GARRET229 to get an extra .15 cents off a gallon for your first fill-up! You must allow the app to use your location while using it. That’s because it pulls up a map of your area to show where and how much you can save. You will also have to link a debit/credit card so that it can track your purchases. I understand that some of you might not be comfortable with that, and that’s okay.

So, I used my bank's credit card, as they would refund any money if that card was compromised.

I love two things about this app: 1. They give real cash back to your account within a day or two, which you can cash out directly to your bank or use towards gift cards at almost any place you can think of.

GAS BUDDY

The second thing is that the gas prices are real-time off the internet, unlike the next app, GasBuddy, which I’ll get into now. GasBuddy is another app you can download, and they mail you a physical card linked to your bank account that you use at the pump.

Again, some people may not be comfortable with this, and I was a little skeptical at first as well, but after a great conversation with my bank, I decided to go for it.

The benefit of having both apps is that different gas stations participate with each of them, and it comes in handy when traveling to each state as they usually have their gas stations. I’m not too fond of this app because it depends on people seeing the gas prices and entering them in.

I can say that the prices have been right more than wrong. I have driven to a gas station, and the prices entered were incorrect.

So, we look at the gas stations that have the most recent updates from users within the last few hours or so. Entering or confirming gas prices can earn you points towards a chance for free gas, and it also helps pass the time when you’re on the road—if you’re a passenger, that is! Eyes on the road, people!

TSD LOGISTICS

Okay, last but not least, and this one is for DIESELS ONLY! Again, this is for diesel owners only.

TSD Logistics is a company based in Texarkana, TX. You can sign up on their website, which I will provide below. They also have an app and a card. You must provide them with your banking information, which is linked to the card they send out. The card and its instructions usually ship in 7-10 business days.

The app is called Open Roads, and it is used at all truck stop stations throughout the country. Some non-truck stop stations are also in their network, but be warned: If you use the card for non-network stations, you will be charged $1.00. They also have a transaction fee of .65 cents.

When you open the app, it will show you all the gas stations you can use within a 150-mile radius. You click on the station you want to use, which will show you the regular and discounted prices. You have to pay the regular price, but they only charge you for the discounted price when it’s all said and done. It will also navigate you to the station, which I thought was a nice feature. You can calculate what they will charge you by taking the amount of gallons you filled up with and multiplying that by the discounted fuel price plus the .65 cent transaction fee. You have to use the trucking lanes, which can be intimidating, but as I said, they come with instructions on how to use the card at the pump. There are also YouTube videos on it as well.

While using this lane, some advice is: don’t get out of the truck/RV until you get to the pump, fill up and get out of that lane, and park somewhere else if you're going into the station. I did encounter one station where I had to take my card to the cashier, go back out, fill up, and then go back in to have my card charged.

Gas Buddy

This free app gives you cash back on gas! Use the promo code EE3898W to get a 15¢/gal bonus on your first purchase.

Circle K Easy Pay Card

We decided to try another program, the Circle K Easy Pay Card, and today we had our first fill-up and saved $0.30 per gallon on our first fill-up, which adds up to $3.19 in savings. Like the EFS Logistics Card (which we use all the time), this program is linked directly to your bank account, and your savings will reflect there. You save $0.10 off per gallon every time (max of 75.00 fill-ups)

The Circle K Easy Pay Card is about making life easier and saving cash. It's your ticket to instant savings at the pump, secure transactions, and hassle-free budgeting. Whether filling up your tank, grabbing a snack, or stocking up on essentials, the Circle K Easy Pay Card makes your transactions smooth and wallet-friendly.

The Circle K Easy Pay Card is also perfect for RV travelers, offering a convenient way to save on fuel while on the road. Whether exploring new destinations or embarking on a cross-country adventure, this card provides a hassle-free way to manage fuel expenses and enjoy savings at Circle K locations.

We prefer to have several options for fuel savings. That way, we can guarantee fuel savings through other regions.
