"Snowbirds," as they're called, come down in the winter months from January to April, which drives up the peak season price. Visitors can stay for 14 consecutive days in any one park. After that, they must leave for at least 48 hours before returning. Before planning your trip, it's always a good idea to check with the individual park or the Florida State Parks website for specific rules or restrictions.

To secure your spot, booking your stay in advance is recommended, especially if you plan to visit during winter. As a Florida resident, you can book 11 months in advance, while out-of-state visitors can book ten months ahead. Myakka River State Park

Myakka River State Park is a beautiful state park located in Sarasota, and it is situated close to some of the most stunning beaches in the area. Although our phone service could have been better, we enjoyed the experience of disconnecting from the digital world and reconnecting with nature. Its rich history and picturesque location make it a popular stop for tourists and locals. This is our favorite park on Amelia Island, a beach town with plenty to offer. It's a must-visit for history buffs, antique enthusiasts, and foodies, with highly-rated local restaurants and stunning beaches.
